Hyeisha and her family were living in a small mobile home in great disrepair when she applied to Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity. She had three daughters, but the oldest was killed in a motorcycle accident, leaving her custody of her grandson, along with her own two teenagers. The mobile home was too small to begin with, and as it gradually fell apart, it became more unsafe for a small boy to grow up in.
She and her daughters look forward to the dream of owning their own home. Hyeisha works as an ophthalmology assistant and she and her family love cooking, singing, and learning new hair and makeup techniques. They are now living in an apartment but look forward to having enough room for everyone to learn and play, and her grandson to have a safe yard to run in.
