Each year between December and March, we reach out to local businesses and community partners to ask for support through corporate sponsorships. These gifts can range from $500 to $25,000, and they help fuel everything we do—from building new homes to repairing existing ones and hosting events that bring our community together.
I’ll be honest: asking is never the easiest part of this work. But it’s one of the most important.
Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity is an affordable housing organization, which means we front the costs of construction long before we’re ever reimbursed. We build and repair homes first—then we recover those costs over time through long-term, affordable mortgages. We also rely heavily on grants, but those funds often arrive after a project is completed, creating a real strain on cashflow.
And because our mission is affordability, we often sell homes at a price our partner families can truly manage—even when that means we don’t fully recover our costs.
That’s where sponsorship makes such a meaningful difference.
When a business chooses to sponsor Habitat, you’re not just writing a check—you’re helping us keep projects moving, pay skilled staff, cover insurance and operational costs, and ultimately serve more families without slowing down due to cash constraints. And the impact is visible: you can see your support working right here in Central Delaware.
If you’ve sponsored before, thank you. If you’re considering it for the first time, we’d be honored to partner with you.
With gratitude,
Timothy Bailey
CEO, Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity
