
Our homes are built on the generosity of volunteers, and our build sites run on diversity.
Whether you are aged 17 or 99, have never swung a hammer or specialize in construction, there are meaningful connections to be made with the community through building homes.
Requirements
Must be at least 17 years old to attend & at least 18 years old to use power tools/ladders.
Must coordinate your own reliable transportation
Submit a Volunteer Enrollment & Waiver and review Orientation materials
What to Expect
All building projects are located in Kent County, DE.
Build sites are active on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am-2pm.
No experience is required!
All PPE and supplies are provided, but personal tools are welcome under assumed risk.
Work with CDHFH’s construction staff, regular volunteers and homeowners throughout the home building process from the ground up. Refer below to the list of projects we do and do not focus on.

What CDHFH DOES NOT work on:
-Foundation/concrete work
-Utilities (electrical, gas & water)
-HVAC
-Plumbing
-Truss installation/roofing shingles
-Drywall
-Carpet installation
