Home Repair Program

Get started with our Healthy Home Repairs program! Repairs include home preservation, weatherization, critical home repair, and accessibility.
Homeowners must own and occupy the home for one year for which the work is requested. Repairs are limited to residents in Kent County, Delaware, whose household earns 80% or below the area median income. The repairs are at no charge to the homeowner. The type of work we approve has to be a critical need or a health and safety issue and depends on current funding.
Please note: The rental and utility assistance program ended in early 2024. Please visit our community resources page to find other organizations that may have various assistance programs.

repairs process

  • Fill out the inquiry form below. Note: Due to the high volume of requests, inquiries are first-come, first-served based on grant funding. We are not an emergency repair program and no longer have rental or utility assistance.
  • Allow us time to process your inquiry.
  • A member of the repair team will contact you to schedule a meeting to begin the application process.
  • Once the application is approved, you will need to complete a pre-survey, attend a 60-90 minute financial workshop, and complete an in-home energy audit with Energize Delaware. Repairs will not begin until this is completed.
  • After completing the pre-repair requirements, a member of our repair team will visit your home to conduct a scope of work for your repairs. A contractor will then be assigned to complete the repairs.
  • Please note: The repair process can take up to three months to complete after approval. All requested repairs are not guaranteed to be completed.
