Despite the rain, Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (CDHFH) hosted the first of its two Rock the Block events in 2023 on April 1. This event is a Neighborhood Revitalization initiative that took place in the Dover’s Downtown Development District. CDHFH, with the help of community volunteer organizations and groups, were able provide exterior repairs to 10 homes and cleanup around the community. With the help of 50 volunteers from M&T Bank, the United States Air Force, Edgewell, Delaware State University, DelDOT, Survivor Ventures, Calvary Assembly of God, Walmart, Sally Mae, Amazon, Loft Realty, Neighborgood Partners and neighboring Rotary Clubs, CDHFH was able to complete multiple exterior projects including the start of their Pollinator Garden initiative at The Learning Tree Academy with U.S. Fish and Wildlife. CDHFH is very humbled and thankful to have been able to reach more of the community in just a few short hours.

Thank you to WSFS Cares Community Foundation, WSFS Bank, H&R Block, TKO Productions, Mo’Bounce Entertainment and Chick-fil-a for sponsoring the event. A special thank you to Dover Fire Department for allowing CDHFH to use their building to host the sponsors, staff and volunteers.
